HUFS Global Volunteers

Ok... my last post was about 2 months and half ago :|
Sorry, i did wanted to write many things but somehow my fingers refused to type because they already typed too much for school assignments. (it was just excuse but it will be nice if you believe it)

In this post i will tell you about HUFS Global Volunteers. FYI i have done the same activities in 2012 with 2012 HUFS Global Volunteer Team but i did not blog about it because...that time i did not think that writing blog is important like i do now. HUFS itself is Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (in Korean 한국외국어대학교). If i am not wrong this year was already the third times they did volunteer works in Subang, West Java.

Throwback for 2012 HUFS Global Volunteer

It was summer 2012, I got the opportunities to join them with Tia, Ayu, Alfian, and Raga. I was responsible to be the interpreter in Science Team.

2013/2014 HUFS Global Volunteers

First of all i would like to explain why i wrote "2013/2014 HUFS Global Volunteers" here. So this team actually formed in 2013 but because of one and another thing they came to Indonesia on January 2014. I was so lucky to get another chance again this year. Actually it was so difficult to participate in the same activity twice because I must give chance to my juniors. But because most of my juniors were busy with another volunteer activities, here i was! Tadaaaa~ This year i went with Ara, Cla, and Nana.

The First Meeting

We decided to meet on 14 January in Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia. After meet them we had lunch together and headed to Subang~

SDIT'Alamy Subang

We visited the same elementary we visited in 2012. I was so happy to see the children again, and even some children still remembered me and called my name. On 15 January was the first day we visited the school and we were surprised because they prepared a nice welcoming ceremony .__.

Welcoming ceremony~~

Music and Health Team

Because i was already in Science Team in 2012, this year i said to my friends that i wanted to try another team, and here i was in Music and Health Team. Actually it was 음/체 [/eumche/] Team, which was from 음악 [/eumak/] (Music) and 체육 [/cheyuk/](Physical Training), I did not know how to translate it to English so let's just called it Music and Health Team, ok?

Hyeri, Seunggyu Oppa, Seungmin Oppa
Amei, Jiwon, Junsung

The leader of our team is Seungmin Oppa, with Seunggyu Oppa, Junsung, Hyeri, and Jiwon as the member and me as the interpreter. We taught Korean song and some physical games like relay races and rope jumping to the children.

Junsung explained the map to the children

Too bad that it was raining almost everyday so that we could not really play outside T__T

Playing with Elementary Children

The wow-est thing i found here was the children that asked Korean volunteer to sign on their book, backpack etc. Some students even asked mine too! -__-

Over all they were actually cute, but yeah they played pranks too much... what a kiddos

Oppas played soccer on break time

Some selfie with elementary students,
sorry for bad quality and my stupid face

Culture Performance in SMPN 1 Subang

On Saturday January 18th, we went to SMPN 1 Subang for a culture exchange activities. The Korean students performed Sogochum, Nanta, Korean Dance, Taekwondo, and Buchaechum.

In the end of the cultural Exchange there was discussion session where students divided into some group and they could ask anything to Korean students. But the thing that made me surprised was the Oplosan Dance they did in the very end part and it seemed that Korean students enjoyed them. If you want to know what is Oplosan dance you can search it on Youtube because to be honest that day was the first day i knew about it -__-

Here are some picture that show how Seungmin Oppa and Seunggyu Oppa enjoyed Oplosan Dance very much! sorry for bad picture  AHAHAHAH

Pineapple Field and Sari Ater Hot Springs

After a tiring time in SMPN 1 (maybe it was just me who tired), we got refreshing time to visit pineapple field and hot spring!!  We harvest some pineapple, but suddenly it was raining very hard. After that everyone bath in hot springs, too bad i didnt take any picture because my phone ran out of battery.

Amei, Ara, and yummy delicious pineapples!!

Painting in SMPN 2 Subang

On Sunday, January 19th we went to SMPN 2 Subang to do some painting. Actually i did nothing but somehow i felt tired T__T but seriously SMPN 2 Subang Students pissed me off, could you please allow Korean Students paint without you asking for sign or picture?

The Closing Ceremony

Monday was the last day we taught the children for the closing, Korean Students performed the same culture performance they did in SMPN 1 Subang. Too bad it was raining so that we could not perform in the outdoor but thanks to the teachers of SDIT'Alamy Subang we could still make it. Cla and I became the MC for that event >___<

while waiting for the closing ceremony to be started

Seunggyu oppa, as the team Leader  received the certificate

Saying good bye to the children was the hard things we did there. Some of us got the farewell gift but i did not receive any T__T... huhuuuu Amei was sad :p

Shopping Time and Last Greetings

On Tuesday we got back to Jakarta. After a company visit in Korindo, we got a free time to shop at Pasar Raya Grande. Too bad Jiwon was sick so she could go shopping with us. Most of them search for Coffe and Traditional stuffs. It was sad to say good bye to my team T__T Amei was crying yeah, crybaby Amei always cry in every farewell

They even bought me a present!

Like i told in my older post, i always hate farewell T__T. But even tho we spent only short time i learned much from all of you please come back to Indonesia again, because WE ARE FRIENDS
