PEACOCK GANGNAM BABY!!

Sept 14th 2012 was the day of Dance Competiton in Olimpiade Budaya (OLIMBUD) 2012. Of course this year Korean Studies also joined the competition! *cheers* *cheers* For this year we really really prepared everything. We even put a story in our dance, who did watch our performance? Did you notice the story? *grin* *beam*

The story was about a lonely peacock, she was all alone and she felt sad. Our friend, Ricky *anyway she is a girl, but we call her Ricky* *wink* *slapped* acted as this lonely peacock. She sat all alone in the stage wore all-black dress. This was a kind of contemporary dance, and we use a slow-beat song in this scene *it was heard like a classic-song for me*. Ricky moved her fingers so it looks like a peacock's figure. Aaaww seriously Ricky's lonely figure gave me a great ghoosebumps when looked at her *touched* *cry*

Then song was changed, and 4 colorful peacocks enter the stage. They acted as the lonely peacock's friend, and tried to cheer the lonely peacock up. Aini, Uyung, Suci, and Bella played this part. They danced an Indonesia traditional dance from West Java which is Tari Merak (Peacock Dance). When the peacocks danced, Ricky was standing in the back of the stage, making a peacock figure and she didnt move at all!!! *really, i was amazed by her talent!* The Tari Merak was so beautiful, it was not too slow but also not too fast, moreover the costume was really really awesome. In the end of the song the peacocks danced around Ricky that she was confused and wanted to escape. But it was useless, she was too confused, scared, and depressed. Suddenly a woman's scream was heard and the light was turned off.

Then do you what the next song was? Hmm? Gangnam style? nooooo you are wrong this time! *beam* The right answer is . . . . . . . Fantastic Baby! yeah! some part of Fantastic Baby song was heard and suddenly it stopped. The sound of footsteps were heard and then the light was turned on. Five people in white-shirt entered the stage. The peacocks were upset and they left the stage, so did Ricky.  That five people were our modern dance team which are our 2011 juniors Lamis, Nihao, Fika and 2012 freshmen Deni and Tasya. They took their position and the song started. Our modern dance was not like the other's modern team.Even though we are all-girls our concept was not sexy but more like cool *wink* This Fantastic Baby choreography was made by our talented-senior, Kak Ellisa *kiss* *kiss* then~~~ yeah after the Fantastic Baby Lamis and Fika wore a sunglasses . . . . we were going to do GANGNAM STYLE! Yeah!

The music started and they danced. I don't know if they made their own choreography because everything they danced were relevant with the meaning of the song *i never ever watch Gangnam Style performance, anybody just tell me if you know* but they were good! no, i mean they were really really good! especially their expression! if i had another shoe on my hand i thought i would throw it to the stage, i mean their expression were  really really good that i really want to kicked them myself *LOL* In the middle of the song, the 4 peacocks and Ricky entered the stage and they started to dance Gangnam Style together. Olala~ it seems like our modern dance team just wanted Ricky to forget her sadness by clubbing together *oops i mean dancing together**LOL**kicked* In the end of the song they asked everybody to join them Gangnam Style-ing and of course some of Korean Studies Students danced together in the front of stage. Yeah everyone was really really happy this evening :D

Really i have no regret watching their performance. I'm really really proud to be a part of Korean Studies!! Actually at first i was the one who was nervous however there were another team which use Gangnam Style song and they also did 'flashmob' . . . beside that the other performance was great and i was like. . . .yeah you know what i felt. But in the end i even didn't think at all when i suddenly stood up and started to dance Gangnam Style *LOL*
