Give a Little, Gain a Lot!

Give a Little, Gain a Lot!

That was a tagline that printed in a green T-shirt that i wore everyday for about 2 weeks on July. Yup! on July because it is already September it is not a new story but i must tell you how awesome it was!

So it was around mid June where i was lucky enough to participate in The Little Big Project Thailand for about 20 days in Thailand! My first time going aboard! Can you imagine it? when you had nothing to do and suddenly you were told that you would go to Thailand next week? And actually you only wrote the application for about 5 minutes because you did not really hope to be chosen. I was not sure if my application was good enough or it was just me being super lucky.

can you see my name?

After a short preparation and some fight with my parents (yeah we had a little fight) I departed to Thailand on July 1st. Let me tell you why did i have a fight with my parents. So they did not believe that this program was legal and they worried if I would involve in human or woman trafficking, so my Mom made sure by visiting the Thailand Embassy and finally they allowed me to go (oh gosh -_-). Listen guys, The Little Big Project Thailand is the real things made by Tourism Authority of Thailand, so you do not need to worry if you do enter to the right site, i mean you are smart enough to know which is the real one and which is the fake one right?

Ok! so i was in Petchburi Team with Rachan Lappanich, or March. We are in the same age so i though it was easier for me to talk. We were under taking care of rescued wildlife with Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand.

- The Competition -

Actually it was a competition where i came as one of the finalists. So March and I competed with other finalists from Phuket, Chiang Rai, Phang Nga and Koh Talu team. The winner team would get US$5000 to donate to their mission. We have briefing before we went to our destination and we had some photo shoot i did not really know if we were volunteer or models

all the finalist minus Phang Nga Team

Me and March!! vote for us lol (too late)

- Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand -

It took about 3 hours by car to get to WFFT, actually i did not know for sure because we visit many place on our way to WFFT but i thought it was about 3 hours long trip (maybe). Not only us but there were also many volunteers, where most of the Europeans.

There are 2 kinds of programme for volunteers here, taking care for rescued Wildlife and taking care for rescued Elephants. Unfortunately The Little Big Project did not book Elephants programme for me and March, so we only took care for rescued Wildlife for 2 weeks.

Bonmee~~ a sweet lovely Elephant

Most of wildlife here are primates like gibbons and macaques but there were also bears and nocturnal. The job i did here mostly Primates Duty but i tried bears and nocturnal a few times. If you want to know my daily life in WFFT you can visit here (that was the official blog of me for The Little Big Project, i'm not sure if it will stay any longer when they make another program but i will make a copy of them).

- Winner Announcement and Press Conference -

After 2 weeks long did our volunteer works, we came back to Bangkok. On July 18th we had winner announcement and press conference at Novotel Siam, Bangkok. Actually i did not expect that we would have press conference so i was a bit nervous -___-!

What i learned from this opportunity was that life was full of surprised!! ahahha Thank God i could participate in this program, it made my last (summer) holidays more colorful and i got many experiences!
Anyways, the new semester has begun and this is my last year in college! wish meeeee supeeeeeeeeer luck!
